FOREST MANAGEMENT
Comprehensive written Forest management plans that address sustainable forestry goals for timber, wildlife, recreation, soil & water resources, endangered species, and other concerns.
NYS TAX LAW 480A
Requiring a 10-yr Renewable commitment from the forest owner, who's intention is to retain and maintain his large forested parcel (50+acres), this program provides tax relief of 80+% from real estate tax on your forested lands. A management plan is prepared with guidelines to follow in sustaining your woodlands, submitting to the State for approval and processing.
NJ FOREST MANAGEMENT PLAN
An annual commitment, providing an avenue for small and large forest owners to sustain their forests and receive tax relief (80-90% savings). A plan is prepared with recommendations required to obtain approval by the State and provide annual treatments to your woodlands.
EQUIP/106 CONSERVATION ACTIVITY PLAN
Cost share funding to prepare the CAP and cost share activitieswithin the plan. Typically about 75% of the actual expense is cost shared.
HARVEST PERMITS
Adhering to Local Town Guidelines, we prepare all the required permits. This may be done on behalf of the landowners or the buyer of timber products.
TIMBER STAND IMPROVEMENTS
Managing your forests may also require the removal of invasive plant species, excess vines choking your woodlands and lower quality trees, allowing your forest better health and growth. We will observe and guide you on the forest pest control.
TIMBER APPRAISAL
We offer an appraisal service which includes timber, damage & theft.
TIMBER SALES, MARKETING, ADMINISTRATION
Based on your current and future goals, timber is marked, offered to potential buyers through a sealed bid process. Buyers must be fully insured, providing quality of work that meets the specifications of the sale and operates within State and local Timber Harvest Guidelines. We prepare all necessary contracts, administer & supervise the sale from start to finish.
TIMBER MARKING
We offer timber marking services for buyers that have expressed an interest in your timber, protecting your goals and your forest.
TREE PLANTING
There comes a time when natural regeneration is not enough. Tree planting is done to replace lost timber to generate a new forest stand or type.
BOUNDARY MAINTENANCE
State Forestry Programs require the maintenance of your property boundaries. Providing us with a survey, we will mark your boundaries accordingly, as needed or as required activity of your plan.
COMPUTER MAPPING
We are able to provide you a detailed mapping of your forested lands, reflecting boundaries, trails, fields, etc.
WATERSHED PROTECTION & MANAGEMENT
Assurance of protecting your water sources, we put in place the necessary precautions of buffers, water bars and if necessary, cross-overs (temporary bridges) to eliminate damage to waterways should you choose a timber harvest.
WILDLIFE HABITAT MANAGEMENT
If your goal is to increase/decrease deer population, we offer guidance as to the best approach for your property. Food plots, natural habitat control, forest improvements are some ways to achieve this.
HUNTING LEASES
We work with a national organization in getting you a formal hunting/recreational lease of your property with responsible insured hunters.
